The Sphenopalatine ganglion (SPG), also known as the nasal ganglion, is the largest nerve center outside of the brain cavity. Located behind the sinus cavity, it relays messages sent from other nerves throughout the body. Many scientists believe that the SPG causes "referral" symptoms in the face, head, neck, shoulders, and lower back for pain experienced in the neck vertebrae.
